Salesian Father Philip Gboa has launched a new Climate Club in Lungi, a small coastal town in the Port Loko District of the Northern Province of Sierra Leone. The club will be open to the more than 6,000 youth in the local Salesian schools and youth center and will have a focus on environmental education and activities.

Don Bosco Fambul staff members are using what they learned during Ebola to prevent coronavirus infections in Sierra Leone. One of the first steps was to turn their headquarters into a first-aid base and transfer youth who were not infected to other buildings. The bus normally used in the Don Bosco on Wheels project traveled through the streets of Freetown's poor neighborhoods during the night, taking care of almost 500 minors in the first weeks of isolation.
