ITALY: Salesian Vocational Training Center in Olbia reopens with 3 training programs
Programs free for youth
(MissionNewswire) The Salesian Vocational Training Center in Olbia, Italy, is reopening its doors to provide vocational education and support to youth entering the workforce. After several years of closure, the CNOS-FAP (National Center for Salesian Works-Formation and Professional Updating) in Sardinia is resuming its activities with practical, high-quality and accessible educational offerings. The center is relaunching with three fully funded three-year vocational education programs in plumbing and heating systems, electrical installation, and catering and hospitality.
A Salesian explained, “All of the programs are completely free of charge. Families will be able to enroll youth in vocational training courses without any registration or attendance fees, providing them with a genuine opportunity for personal growth, professional development and career orientation.”
To present the renewed training offerings, the center has organized two days for prospective students, families, and anyone interested in learning more about the center and the education offered. Visitors will have the opportunity to tour the facilities and workshops, meet the instructors, receive information about the available programs, and explore the opportunities offered by Salesian vocational education.
The Salesian explained, “The new training courses are aimed at students choosing their educational path after lower secondary school, those considering a change in their current studies and families facing important decisions about their children’s future.”
These courses combine classroom learning, practical workshop activities, and extensive workplace experience, gradually introducing students to professional environments and employment opportunities.
The plumbing and heating systems program will prepare students to install, maintain, and inspect hydraulic, heating, air-conditioning, and sanitary systems. This technical and hands-on field is increasingly important in relation to energy efficiency, safety standards and building maintenance.
The electrical installation program will equip students with the skills needed to work with residential and industrial electrical systems, including installation, management, maintenance, and testing. It is a rapidly evolving sector closely linked to new technologies, home automation, safety systems and the growing demand for qualified technical professionals.
Finally, the catering and hospitality program is designed for those interested in developing skills in food preparation, culinary processes, plating and service. This sector is particularly strategic for Sardinia and the Gallura region, where tourism, hospitality, and food services play a vital role in the local economy.
CNOS-FAP promotes vocational guidance, professional training, continuing education and employment services throughout Italy.
The programs are part of the Sardinia Regional Program ESF+ 2021–2027, “At the Service of Dignity”, supported by the European Social Fund Plus. They lead to the professional qualifications established under the Italian national framework for vocational education and training.
