(MissionNewswire) The Don Bosco Skill Mission Center, a youth skills development center in Bangalore, India, is equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure to offer train-the-trainer programs and advanced skills training for talented youth. This term, the center welcomed 202 graduates from all over the country, specializing in subjects like cloud computing for IT professionals and distributed component object model technology for electrical engineers.

Since its start, the center has successfully trained close to 9,000 youth with a 75% placement rate. The program is completely free of charge, and the center also provides food and accommodation for its students. This ensures an enriching experience for all participants.

A Salesian explained, “The impact of the Don Bosco Skill Mission Center extends beyond the training campus. It has forged strong, long-term partnerships with international groups, such as a Japanese team tasked with training and supporting the employment of non-student, non-working Indian youth living in Japan, particularly with skills in IT and technology.”

The center has also strengthened its ties with other Salesian provinces, hosting programs across the Salesian network and optimizing its resources to benefit more people in need. These collaborations have created significant opportunities to share resources and exchange expertise, improving support for youth in many Salesian institutions.

Salesian programs across India are primarily focused on education. Salesian primary and secondary education in the country helps youth prepare for later technical, vocational or university study. Other programs help to support poor youth and their families by meeting the basic needs of shelter, proper nutrition and medical care.
